However, under the current UK regulatory approach, CE marking continues to be recognised in Great Britain for many product sectors, subject to specific legislation and applicable deadlines. Therefore, it is no longer accurate to state that every product exported to the UK must have UKCA instead of CE.

For Northern Ireland, a different regulatory framework applies. CE marking continues to be relevant, and where mandatory third-party conformity assessment is carried out by a UK Approved Body, the CE UKNI marking may be required. UKNI is not used on its own; it is used together with CE.
