ISO/IEC 17025 Accreditation Consulting for Calibration Laboratory – Anritsu Vietnam Co., Ltd. and Measurement Uncertainty Evaluation Training Course

VINTECOM International was honored to provide ISO/IEC 17025 consulting services and Measurement Uncertainty (MU) Evaluation Training for the Calibration Laboratory of Anritsu Vietnam Co., Ltd.
The objective of VINTECOM's ISO/IEC 17025 consulting project was to support and guide Anritsu's calibration laboratory in achieving international recognition of technical competence, measurement accuracy, result reliability, and quality management capability. ISO/IEC 17025 is the internationally recognized standard applicable to testing and calibration laboratories, ensuring that measurement results are reliable, traceable, and technically valid.
The key objectives of the consulting project included:
1. Ensuring Technical Competence
- Verifying that calibration procedures, measurement systems, and equipment comply with applicable technical requirements.
- Ensuring personnel possess the necessary qualifications, skills, and technical competence to perform highly accurate calibrations.
- Establishing and maintaining measurement processes traceable to national and international measurement standards.
2. Ensuring Accuracy and Reliability of Results
- Determining Measurement Uncertainty (MU) for each calibration activity.
- Controlling factors that may influence measurement results, including environmental conditions and equipment performance.
- Applying internationally recognized measurement methods, standards, and reference materials.
3. Establishing an Effective Quality Management System
- Developing and implementing a management system compliant with ISO/IEC 17025 to ensure operational consistency and continual improvement.
- Documenting and controlling procedures, work instructions, technical records, and quality documentation.
- Conducting periodic internal audits to identify opportunities for improvement and corrective actions.
4. Meeting Customer and Stakeholder Requirements
- Delivering accurate, reliable, and customer-focused calibration services.
- Ensuring confidentiality and protection of customer information.
- Enhancing customer satisfaction through professional, transparent, and responsive services.
5. Ensuring Metrological Traceability and Regulatory Compliance
- Establishing traceability of all measurement standards and calibration equipment to recognized national or international standards.
- Complying with applicable legal, regulatory, and industry requirements governing calibration activities.
6. Achieving Accreditation Recognition
- Supporting the calibration laboratory in preparing for and meeting accreditation requirements established by recognized accreditation bodies such as VILAS (Vietnam), A2LA (United States), UKAS (United Kingdom), and other internationally recognized organizations.
- Strengthening customer and stakeholder confidence through internationally recognized accreditation of laboratory competence.
7. Enhancing Operational Effectiveness and Continual Improvement
- Developing a culture of continual improvement throughout laboratory operations.
- Implementing advanced technologies and best practices to improve efficiency and competitiveness.
- Optimizing operational costs while maintaining full compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
Measurement Uncertainty Evaluation Training
As part of the project, VINTECOM International also conducted a specialized training program on Measurement Uncertainty Evaluation in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 and the internationally recognized Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement (GUM).
The training covered:
- Principles of Measurement Uncertainty (MU)
- Identification of uncertainty sources
- Type A and Type B evaluations
- Development of uncertainty budgets
- Sensitivity coefficients
- Combined standard uncertainty
- Expanded uncertainty calculations
- Practical applications for calibration laboratories
- Documentation requirements for accreditation assessments
This training enabled laboratory personnel to strengthen their technical capability in evaluating and reporting measurement uncertainty in accordance with accreditation requirements and international best practices.
