EU Rohs Directive & Reach Directive Training course and Consulting by Vintecom International.
As part of supporting Vietnamese electronics manufacturers in accessing the European market, Vintecom International recently organized a training and consulting program on Product Technical File (PTF) preparation and system assessment for G8 Electronics Joint Stock Company.
This program aims to help the company fully understand and comply with the regulatory requirements of the European Union, particularly those related to hazardous substance control and chemical management in electrical and electronic equipment.
The activity was conducted based on the requirements of the EU regulatory framework, including:
+ Directive 2011/65/EU – Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) in Electrical and Electronic Equipment
+ REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 – Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals
Training on RoHS and REACH Compliance
During the training session, experts from Vintecom International provided comprehensive guidance on the RoHS Directive and REACH Regulation, focusing on their practical application in the electronics manufacturing sector.

The training content included:
+ Overview of EU regulatory requirements applicable to electrical and electronic equipment (EEE)
+ The 10 restricted substances under RoHS and their concentration limits in homogeneous materials
+ Supplier material declaration and compliance verification processes
+ The three regulatory levels under REACH, including:
+ Chemical registration requirements
+ Authorisation for substances of very high concern (SVHC)
+ Restriction or prohibition of hazardous chemicals
+ Responsibilities of manufacturers, importers, and distributors when placing products on the EU market
These topics provided the technical foundation for G8’s management and engineering teams to understand the regulatory expectations and integrate compliance requirements into their product development and manufacturing processes.
Consulting on Product Technical File (PTF)
In addition to training activities, Vintecom International also provided consulting support to help G8 Electronics JSC establish and complete the Product Technical File (PTF) in accordance with EU regulatory requirements.
The Product Technical File typically includes:
+ Product design specifications and engineering drawings
+ Bill of Materials (BOM)
+ Material and substance declarations from suppliers
+ Risk assessment and compliance evaluation reports
+ Laboratory testing reports for restricted substances
+ Compliance declarations related to RoHS and REACH
This documentation serves as a critical basis for demonstrating product compliance when assessed by EU Notified Bodies (NB-EU) or during regulatory inspections.
System Assessment and Compliance Preparation
Alongside technical documentation development, Vintecom experts also conducted an internal system assessment to evaluate G8’s current compliance management practices.
The assessment focused on:
+ Chemical compliance management within the supply chain
+ Supplier declaration control and verification procedures
+ Documentation management for EU regulatory requirements
+ Traceability of materials and components used in production
+ Based on the assessment results, recommendations were provided to strengthen the company’s compliance management system and ensure readiness for certification processes.
Supporting Certification and EU Market Access
Through the combined activities of training, consulting, and system evaluation, Vintecom International supported G8 Electronics JSC in preparing the necessary technical and regulatory documentation required to:
+ Obtain RoHS compliance certification
+ Demonstrate compliance with REACH chemical management requirements
+ Complete EU Declaration of Conformity (DoC) and technical documentation
+ These steps are essential for manufacturers wishing to place electrical and electronic products on the European market.
+ Strengthening the Compliance Capacity of Vietnamese Electronics Manufacturers
The collaboration between Vintecom International and G8 Electronics JSC reflects a broader effort to enhance regulatory compliance capabilities among Vietnamese electronics manufacturers, enabling them to meet international standards and expand into global markets.
By implementing structured compliance systems aligned with RoHS and REACH regulations, companies can reduce regulatory risks, improve supply chain transparency, and increase the competitiveness of their products in the European Union.
