The questionnaire has been revised in content and structure. It includes consideration of interfaces between hardware and embedded software, although detailed software-development assessment requires dedicated methods such as Automotive SPICE.
The assessment model has also been updated. All questions are weighted equally, while the A, B and C classification system and downgrading rules remain in place. Audit results from the previous VDA 6.3:2010 edition cannot be directly transferred to the current evaluation model.
